Well, with two friendly matches under our belts, the soccer team is heading to Gyeong-Gi Suwon International School tomorrow morning for our first division game of the season. Our two friendly matches were against Division I teams. We lost both matches, but the second match was much closer than the first, as we could have easily won with a couple of breaks going our way. The guys have been working hard during practices, and the possible outcome of tomorrow's game looks promising. PRAY that the guys will do their absolute best for His glory.
I have been in contact with a couple more schools in the Martinez area. So, the prospects are continuing to come in. Continue to PRAY that God will guide as to where He desires me to serve as a teacher.
It looks like renting will be the best option for our family, at least until the economy decides to settle down a bit. Renting is all we've ever known, anyway. So, it isn't that big of a deal for us. Continue to PRAY that God will guide the church leadership to the perfect situation for our family.
Pastor Rushing has interviewed for a position on the school board of Berean Christian High School in Walnut Creek, CA. He told me that the interviews went well, and that it is in God's hands now. This would be a great opportunity for Pastor Rushing to be able to minister to the students at BCHS, and one that he would like the opportunity in which to be involved. PRAY that God's will be done in this situation.
The Purity Seminar took place yesterday, and it was a success, I think. At the end of the high school boys' sessions, in which I was a part, our school director asked for a show of hands of those who would commit themselves to a life of purity and wait for sex until marriage. About 2/3 to 3/4 of their hands went up...Praise the Lord! All in all, we teachers had a great time spending time with the students outside the classroom, and God's Word was preached and heard. So, PRAY that the decisions made would stand the test of time and temptation.
Well, I know that's not a lot of news, but we're "east-bound and down, loaded up, and truckin'", if I can use Mr. Reed's lyrics to describe our lives presently. We have a lot on our plates right now, and it's simply difficult to stick our heads up and look around. God is gracious, though, and He is enabling us to get everything taken care of within our responsibilities. Continue to PRAY that He will continually be our Strength, our Fortress, and our Rock.
In His Service,
Sam
