Dulcy and I have had a shipping company (one that is supposed to be less expensive that others, but still reputable) come by to give us a quote on door-to-door service from Uijongbu, South Korea to Martinez, CA. The quote is 4,133,800KRW, which translates currently to 2,995.50USD. The KRW figure will stay the same for the next 30 days, but the USD figure will fluctuate with the exchange rate. This is almost exactly how much we were expecting, so it isn't at all a shock. The good thing now is that we have an amount for which to prepare. PRAY that God will provide for this significant expense, and guide us in our decision to either accept or reject this quote.
As you may remember, my Aunt Beth passed away on February 1st. I want to thank all of you who have since prayed from my Grandparents and Uncle Glenn, her husband, as they have weathered this unexpected loss. As God promised that all things work together for good, we have already seen a positive thing arise from this situation, and most unexpectedly at that. I recieved an email from my Grandparents in San Antonio in which they stated that my Grandpa had a "small" life insurance policy on Aunt Beth. They further stated that since all the expenses for her services and such had already been paid, they wanted to do what they think Beth would've done. So, they have decided to send us the remainder of the insurance money to help with transition expenses! I'm sure that this is not the 'ultimate good' that will come from my aunt's homegoing, but it is most definitely a good thing nonetheless! Please continue to PRAY that God's peace will overflow in their hearts and minds as they are still experiencing much pain and grief.
Not much else going on here. It snowed during soccer practice yesterday...go figure. More details to follow once we recieve them...we'll keep you all informed.
In His Service...Sam.
